Do Indigenous writers have a special role to play as activists on behalf of their culture and the natural world under threat? Jalvvi Niillas Holmberg from Sápmi, Edson Krenak (Krenak – Vanuire clan) from Brazil and historian of ideas Patricia Lorenzoni will be discussing activism and literature. Holmberg is a joik artist, author, poet and dramatist and his latest book is the novel Halla Helle. Anthropologist Edson Krenak will be talking about the indigenous activist Ailton Krenak and his book of essays Ideas to Postpone the End of the World which has just been published in Swedish translation. Patricia Lorenzoni is an historian of ideas and author, who writes about issues around indigenous activism and art in Brazil.
