With close to 800 exhibitors you will be able to get in touch with companies from the book industry, publishers, literary agencies, libraries, new library techniques, educations materials, fiction and non-fiction literature, children’s books, cultural institutions, the Swedish Academy, the Swedish Parliament, the Nordic Council and the Nordic Council of Ministers, The European Parliament, authorities, NGOs, international organizations; among others the UN and the Red Cross, just to mention a few.

The latest books are in focus at the Göteborg Book Fair but it is not only a literature festival and a Book Fair. It is also an arena for debate. Many international themes and political issues of world importance find a platform here, with some of the world’s leading intellectuals discussing, debating and voicing their opinions. As an example ministers of the Swedish Government and members of the Swedish Parliament often present new proposals to a wider public at the Fair.

Many organizations which have a commission to reach a wider public take the opportunity to participate at the Book Fair in order to present their activities. Here they meet a well informed and active audience. This is also a reflection from many writers. In Göteborg they meet their readers, a very well informed and interested public.
