Space Policy and Law

Collaboration in space has long been characterised by peaceful intentions. Now that the space age has well and truly arrived, it is high time we agree on how to make life in space good for as many people as possible. This panel will shed light on which laws govern space and why it is important to have regulatory frameworks in place that extend light years away from us. Speakers will include Niklas Hedman, head of legal affairs at the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs for 18 years, Swedish National Space Agency lawyer Pernilla Nilsson, and Finnish space legal expert Jenni Tapio. Moderator: Ella Turta, from Hanaholmen – the Swedish-Finnish Cultural Centre.
