A Nordic meeting place
International Rights Centre (IRC) is a hub for agents and companies from across Europe. This is the largest market place for Nordic literature where, at the same time, companies and agents from numerous countries sell rights to the Nordic market.
Business for this autumn starts in Göteborg. At IRC you will meet many publishers and agents, and take the pulse of the hottest trends in Northern Europe.
All visitors become inspired by the energy and enthusiasm in the Nordic publishing world’s annual declaration of love to words, thought and literature. Here you engage in an intense exchange with a sense of belonging and comfort. Göteborg provides room for dialogue and socialising, which make it much more than a normal industry trade fair.
IRC was established at the end of the 1900s and has since grown in significance. The premises offer a secluded and comfortable spot for your meetings. The Fair’s placement in central Göteborg ensures an experience that can continue beyond IRC and in the evenings restaurants and bars in the vicinity fill with people from the industry.
Said about Rights Centre
“The International Rights Centre in Göteborg has a great atmosphere and is a good space for meetings – one has privacy, yet it’s also very communal. The Göteborg Book Fair is also a great celebration of international authors and it’s inspiring to see how well attended the fair is by the public.”
– Andy Hine, Foreign Rights Director, Little Brown Book Group, UK
“The Göteborg Book Fair is one of the nicest fairs. It’s vibrant and accessible and you get to meet not only a lot of Scandinavian publishers, but also many German, Dutch and French publishers.”
– Johanna Kinch, Literary Agent, Hedlund Literary Agency, Sweden
“I think it’s a good atmosphere in the IRC, and many interesting people who come here. Some meetings that I used to have in Frankfurt, I have in Göteborg instead. It’s nice to be able to do so, because I often lack time when I’m in Frankfurt. “
– Flemming Möldrup, ABC Forlag, Denmark
“Göteborg Book Fair is such a charming and inspiring place to do business: Agents, publishers, readers, and books – everything and everyone come together here.”
– Nya Guldberg, Literary Agent, Lindhardt og Ringhof og Carlsen, Denmark
