In Ariane Koch’s Overstaying, a young woman lives in a house that is much too big in a town that is much too small. One day, she takes in a mysterious stranger. This visitor quickly becomes a central part of her life, both through his presence and through the fantasies of power and control that he awakens in her. One day he is gone, and she is forced out into the world. Swiss author Ariane Koch will be in conversation with the author and publisher Daniel Pedersen as they explore themes of integration and assimilation, origin and language, ownership and power structures.
