Molly Crabapple
Description

The Jewish Bund
‘What does Judaism look like without Zionism?’ That was how the New York Times headlined the review of Molly Crabapple’s latest book Here Where We Live Is Our Country: The Story of the Jewish Bund. The secular, progressive Bund organisation was a Jewish labour movement during the first half of the twentieth century. It was on the scene on the Battleship Potemkin and in the Warsaw ghetto uprising, and it remained anti-Zionist to the last. Artist, illustrator, and author Molly Crabapple began her career on the New York burlesque scene. She will be in conversation with the journalist Edgar Mannheimer, whose great grandfather was a member of the movement.
